SECOND PLACE:
# 467
Ed Christiansen
Auburndale, MA
Dimensions (inches):
  Width:   2.4
  Height:   11
  Depth:   2.4
Materials:   Figured walnut, holly, tauga nut
Turned from walnut with holly veneer.  The mill is constructed as one layered block then drilled and turned.  Glue used is west system epoxy.  I like the appearance of the interlocked "planetary rings," and they are used often in my work.  The mechanism is the new CrushGrind.

The top is turned tauga nut that has been spiraled with a Sorby spiraling tool.  It is then glued on the the mill.  My success rate on spirals is about 33%.
